Weird Politics

So the Iowa caucus results are in, and it would appear that the favored candidates for both the Republicans and Democrats have been firmly rejected by the voting public. Not Romney, But Huckabee. Not Hillary, but Obama.
Weird. I mean, it's cool, but it's weird. The last eight years have been one long exercise in disillusionment and misery, so seeing something that doesn't look completely insane is hard to process. Some of the stuff I've read indicates that the turnout for the primaries was significantly higher than what was projected; they had 150K voters projected, and they got 220K +.
I'd be pretty happy if Obama got in the white house. Huckabee, on the other hand, is a religious psycho, but he also seems pretty divisive. I was listening to a lot of annoying talk radio shows this morning, and got to hear some retarded douche scream about how Huckabee is actually a liberal, and that conservative voters had forsaken their values.
Yeah, it didn't make any sense to me either.
I'm always amused by ultra-conservatives who try to label anyone who even vaguely disagrees with them as a liberal. I see a lot of the same shit from liberals yelling about neo-cons, but the conservative types seem a lot more vocal about it.
Hmm, I wonder what some of these political pundits are saying...
...
Ok, Tubby is still trying to suck the dick off the ghost of Ronald Reagan by attacking Huckabee for not being Reagan...
The Nazi Transvestite is just ranting about Kwanza being a terrorist holiday or something. I don't know much about Kwanza, and don't particularly care, but this is funny:
Kwanzaa bells, dashikis sell
Whitey has to pay;
Burning, shooting, oh what fun
On this made-up holiday!
Ah yes, how clever she is!
Hmm, ok, moving on...Ok, Billy is trying to sell me Pens and Mugs and shit without much content worth looking at other than amalgamated feeds from other places. Oh, he's got a shwag clearance, yay!
Holy shit, $18.95 for a fucking pen? $39.95 for a polo shirt? :wtf:
I mean, hell, I want to sell some shirts and stuff but I'm not trying to gouge the money right out of people's wallets with a virtual crowbar. Fuck, at least I'm going to try to add some snappy pictures to them instead of plain "no spin zone" text or something equally pretentious and dishonest.
Hmm, ok, let's keep digging for something else interesting...there are some links on Billy's site to other stuff...
Ok, got something from Politico.com, which is amusing. I don't know who this Ben Smith guy is, but he's reporting how some NYT reporters got a private jet away form Iowa to beat traffic. The comments are priceless:
Mid air collisions! Mid air collisions! :) - I'm guessing a conservative
That's not very environmentally friendly. For shame, New York Times, for shame. At least the NYT isn't one of those newspapers with liberal writers who constantly talk about global warming and guilt us into being "green." Oh wait... - Yep, bet this one's conservative too
Ben, if you were a real hardcore political reporter you would just rent a car and drive there with your attorney as you both snort cocaine off the dashboard. - hehe....ok, probably not a conservative.
...
Hmm, ok, that was amusing and disturbing and didn't give much insight into what's going on. Ah well. Ok, I've had enough politics for one day.

Rejected by the white, Christian, right-leaning Iowa segment of the voting public, anyway.
Well, true, but it's a start
