Bombing on ID

Intelligent Design is, in a nutshell, a big crock of shit. It's little more than a back-door white washed attempt to insert Young Earth Creationism into the United States public schools. This entry is in reponse to Phil Plait's entry on ID and google bombing it to finally get some organized efforts to counter the wretched crap that's clogging the internet.

This is something I've run into in the recent past, trying to google up information on Hominid skull morphology and key measurements. All I got was a billion ID or creationist bullshit pages, each one with worse anti-science than the last.

Anyhow, if you want to contribute to the Google Bombing effort, then Bombs Away. Interestingly, there are some ethical considerations regarding google bombing. Personally, I don't find it unethical at all. It's little different than an ad campaign or sending out flyers or any other method of diseminating information. The ID and YEC advocates have been, in some cases inadvertently, doing this for years. It's time that people starting pushing back, in my humble and insignificant opinion. Don't believe me? How about this. I pulled that off of a google ad on Phil's Bad Astronomy Blog. This is pulled from the main page of that site:

One of the reasons Darwinism is obviously false is that no one has ever been able to make accurate predictions based on Darwinism, and Darwinism cannot be quantified or tested. If Intelligent Design Theory is improved so that it can make accurate predictions and therefore can be tested, then it will have to be accepted.

All lies. Evolutionary Theory makes an astounding number of predictions. It can be quantified, and it can be tested. You see what this is? These are LIES. They aren't a differing opinion, they aren't the product of a slightly different world view, and they aren't even remotely close to reality, they are bold faced lies. And this is their mission:

Intelligent Design is a brilliant and true hypothesis and the Christian Guardians are grateful to all those who have worked so hard to bring its wisdom and knowledge to the world. But Intelligent Design needs to be advanced a few more crucial steps before it can defeat and replace Darwinism. We suggest that supporters of Intelligent Design devote some of their efforts to improve and advance Intelligent Design Theory so that it can: Make accurate predictions. (Darwinism cannot make accurate predictions.) It is quantifiable and able to be tested and thereby validated. (Darwinism is not quantifiable.)

Amusingly they at least note that ID cannot make accurate predictions nor be tested. However, they falsely paint Evolutionary Theory in the same light. This is incredible to me. Maybe I expect too much from humanity. Who knows.
