Fighting Off Brain Death, Green Tea, and Angry Canadians
This is an unfiltered scan of a pen-sketch I did in a couple of meeting yesterday. My brains were turning to gelatin, and threatening to ooze out of my ears, so I had to start drawing like a mad man to prevent catastrophic nervous system failure.
I did this with a Jetstream pen, made by Uni or something. They're pretty good for a regular ballpoint pen.
In other news, I've switched from coffee to green tea.
I know, I know, that's crazy talk. I'm not swearing off coffee, I'm just trying to avoid all the sugar and dairy stuff I had to mix in to make the cheap free coffee here at work palatable. I think I was crashing from the sugar in the afternoons, so I've been doing cheap green tea with a packet of splenda. It helps me not feel like death warmed over in the afternoon, which is nice.
Other than that I've been doing little tweaks to the site here and there, and working on world building for the D&D game I'm running, which is quite fun. Oh, and trying to insulate my house against impending cold weather. This has been complicated by the addition of the dog door, which is rather drafty, but I'm still working on training the little bugger to use it consistently. I have to admit that my dog isn't exactly a genius by canine standards, but he has his clever moments.
This reminds me of the Angry Canadian Guy, Mike Holmes from the show Holmes on Homes, who fixes fucked up houses. It's actually a pretty fascinating show, and I learn a hell of a lot about home repair and maintenance from watching it. And seeing an angry Canadian rant about shitty contractors is always amusing.
I always get the impression that his lecturing would get really annoying really fast, and inspire his crew to beat him with claw hammers after a few hours, but I figure he probably just has to be all talkative and preachy for the camera so there's actually something to watch. The show is certainly more interesting than This Old House, which is, in my estimation, the driest fucking show ever broadcast over the airwaves.
ETA: In other news, I have just inadvertently discovered that my drupal theme does not play well with wide images. Bugger.
