Scott Adams/PZ Myers thing finale

Well, the whole dispute seems to have ended. The vouyeristic sicko in me kind of hoped it would go on, I must admit. Scott Adams has released one of his books, called God's debris, for free, in PDF, although I'm not sure if the two events are at all related.

I may give it a read to try and get a better handle on where he was coming from. He did post a "results of why I'm stupid" follow up at least. A bit defensive, but in my attempt to be fair and unbiased, I have to admit, he has some strong points.

Actually, the hostility of Evolution supporters and the tendency of some of them to automatically go into "verbally bludgeon the creationist into submission" mode is a little disheartening. Of course, creationists tend to be just as rabid and hostile, if not worse, and they've got the whole problem of being wrong about nearly everything going against them.

I understand how frustrating it can be to argue with someone who's as dense and ignorant as a cobblestone (that being a fair representation of most creationists, in my humble opinion), but I don't think the venom that was slung towards Scott Adams was warranted. I think people read too much into his statements. All in all, a very unhelpful exchange.
